In Lesson 5 we learned about a group of people who hiked to the summit on Mt. Everest. Several of you had really good questions about the air quality up there, and seemed interested in looking for more information about that type of climb. Feel free to conduct additional research and post your findings here in this blog.
I saw an article on CNN.com that shows many of our bills will be receiving a face lift- literally! We did a little research in class, but let's continue the conversation here with posting the websites you found, what you wanted to share in class, and your reactions about this topic.
When you are reading your time for kids each week, I hope it inspires you to want to learn more about the topics included in the articles. If you do additional research, please share it with us! Include the name of the article, and then add the website where you found more information. Give the main ideas/a summary sentence or two in your own words. :)
As we learn about main ideas/summaries in ELA this quarter, I would like for you to post sites you find in your weather research, and include in your post the main ideas/key words you found. You can even combine the main ideas into a summarizing sentence or two. This will give us more information on specifically what the site is about, which can help other students know if they want to view it or not. Remember- to find the main ideas, often they are included in the title, headings, photos, bold print, and other text features. In the paragraphs, they are often stated in the topic and concluding sentences. Words that are repeated often can also indicate that they are important. I'm so proud of your initiative to learn new things--even when it is not assigned to you!
